“You are what you eat”

Posted by lamad in Uncategorized

My class has all pick topics that he/she is interested in and has began reserching about their topic. The topic that I have chosen is Childhood obesity. Child obesity has become a big issue in the past couple years because the number of childern becoming obese or overweight has increased. One out of every seven kids are obese and 40% of those kids continue to stay obese in their adulthood. This is very serious that child obesity is changed because as these children get older they are gonna have risks of health problems, such as, Heart attacks,Strokes,Type 2 diabetes,Breathing problems, Cancer, Hyperclyciema and mental health conditions ( depression, low self of steam).

Child obesity these days is mostly caused by eating habits and lack of physical health. Children are eating to much junky food that consist of sugar, fats, salts, carbs, etc. After the eat these foods they do activities that dont involve being active. Activies like sitting on a computer, watching TV, or playing video games.Researchers say that children should have an hour of physical activity a day. these kids are getting almost none. This has to change for the sake of our future.

    Hello Lana,
That is a great topic for a research project! There is loads of information on it. So much in fact that are you planning on focussing on a certain aspect on it (i.e. big business’ role, genetics etcetera)? Or are you going to go for a broad overview of the many aspects? Planning this sort of thing out early really makes the finished product better quality and generally easier (I didn’t believe that for a long time, but as the projects get bigger it really is the truth.)

    Cheers,

Yes… Unfortunately, lot’s of kids are becoming obese and some even die before their 40…. That’s probably the average life span of a obese person, 40 years old.
At least that’s what I think.
It’s so sad that so many people are becoming obese and dying, it’s unreal. People should eat healthy, excercise, and live life to the fullest.
That’s what I think people should do.
Good job on the post by the way, very good topic and well written.
    Keep it up Lama.
    Peace, Skyler.

    Heyy,
You did a really good job of explaining why child obesety is such a big problem. I didnt relize that so many kids are obese now days. I also liked how u listed some of the major things that can happen from being obese. I didn’t know that You chould get a stroke from being obese? How do you think they will make sure that the amount of kids who are obese dont increase?
